Title: The Highest Vision of the Soul
Author: [personal profile] evening_bat
Pairing: hinted Dean/Gabriel
Rating: R
Word Count: ~ 8000
Warnings: Canon character death, lots of swearing, mention of adult situations
Summary: Dean was no stranger to regrets, but he'd never expected to have this much trouble accepting the death of an irreverent, absentee archangel. Then again, it’d be a lot easier if he didn’t keep tripping over reminders of Gabriel all the freaking time. Or if he could stop dreaming about him.

Notes: Written for the 2013 Round of the Debriel Minibang over on LJ. Infinite thanks to Seryan for listening to me work out the plot and doing beta duty and also to Weekendship for the incredible accompanying artwork. Go check out the art masterpost HERE and tell Weekendship how amazing it is.

He remembered the shine of that blue sign on wet pavement, and they’d put it as far behind them as possible before stopping. )

Title: A Minute I Let My Guard Down
Author: [personal profile] evening_bat
Pairing: Gabriel/Dean
Rating: R (for language)
Word Count: ~ 2200
Warnings: If you’re here, you’re probably already aware of the blasphemy thing.
Summary: Sam finds out about them by accident.
Notes: Part of the Crawl To Your Foothill series. Titles from The Tea Party’s The Messenger.

It wasn’t that Dean was hiding his thing with Gabe, really. )

Title: Not Expecting To Collide
Author: [personal profile] evening_bat
Pairing: Dean/Gabriel
Rating: R
Word Count: ~ 2800
Warnings: Slash? Check. Blasphemy? Check. Good sense? Uh...must have missed that one.
Summary: Dean has a problem. Gabriel’s willing to lend a hand. (Or two.)
Notes: First in the Crawl To Your Foothill series. Titles from The Tea Party’s The Messenger.

There was no restraining a startled jump in response to the unexpected voice in his hotel room, but Dean counted it a victory that he managed to avoid tipping himself or his beer off the bed. )

Crawl To Your Foothill

Gabriel's secret is out, but he doesn't seem too eager to jump into his brothers' squabble. He'd be a useful ally, but Dean's got bigger problems to deal with than a reluctant archangel. But it's when Gabriel stops by with an offer for Dean that things get interesting.

All titles from The Tea Party's The Messenger.

(1) Not Expecting To Collide: Dean has a problem. Gabriel’s willing to lend a hand. (Or two.)

(2) A Minute I Let My Guard Down: Sam finds out about them by accident.

(3) This Desire I Can’t Kill: Dean likes it when Castiel visits ― just not on nights when Gabriel is around.

(4) What Our Fears Were All About: Dean’s got determination and balls to spare but that’s worth squat against the Devil. Too bad the only person powerful enough to make a difference can’t be bothered to lift a finger to help.

(5) Could Almost Touch Heaven: The Apocalypse is nigh and the Winchesters have lost their best chance of taking out the Devil. (Dean isn’t thinking about the fact that he may have lost more than that.)

Title: Building Bridges
Author: [personal profile] evening_bat
Pairing: Gen
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~ 3500
Warnings: Nothing worse than would be found in either canon.
Summary: Thor’s search for his brother leads him to a meeting with a new brother-in-arms.
Notes: Goes AU after the Thor movie and early SPN S5, respectively.

The battle was going poorly for the beleaguered human warrior when Thor arrived on the field. )

Notes: Thanks to the lovely ladies over at Word Wars who encouraged and enabled this self-indulgent bit of crossover madness. :)

Title: Faithful
Author: [personal profile] evening_bat
Pairing: Gen
Rating: R (for language)
Word Count: ~ 2700
Warnings: Children being threatened
Summary: Sometimes, the trouble wasn't of the shrunken angels' making.
Notes: So earlier this week, I encountered the Ask SPN BB!verse for the first time. And fell in love. It's adorable and hilarious and highly, highly recommended. (And this coming from someone who doesn't read kidfic and prefers her angels powered-up!) Also, this fic won't make sense if you don't know the basic premise. The blog owner welcomes contributions so I wrote this as a thank you. :)

At first, though Dean hadn’t been thrilled at abruptly finding himself and Sam responsible for three miniaturized members of the Heavenly Host, he hadn’t been worried. )

From my own questing for fic, I have learned to love masterlists. So if anyone's looking for other things I have written, it's all here:

Title: We All Need Saving
Author: [personal profile] evening_bat
Rating: PG-13? For implications.
Pairing: Dean/Castiel heavily implied
Word Count: ~3000
Summary: An alternate version of Meant To Be Known. At the time, I was a bit unsure if my story really fulfilled the prompt and I'd toyed with the notion of something shorter and less serious. I ended up going with the longer version but the short-and-cute one never quite got completely scrapped. And, well, at the time of writing, I was stressed out about RL, working on long, serious-themed fannish projects and really, really needing a distraction.

Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] ramen_addict for the awesome prompt! And, as ever, to [livejournal.com profile] seryan for egging me on and beta-reading. Title taken from the same song as I used for the first story, "We All Need Saving" by Jon McLaughlin.

Sam had no idea how Dean had managed to keep himself alive during the years they'd been apart. The man was a menace to himself. )

Comments are welcome! Hope you enjoyed reading it!

Title: A Time To Sleep
Author: [personal profile] evening_bat
Rating: PG-13? Dean curses once, otherwise it's pretty harmless.
Pairing: Dean/Castiel hinted at
Word Count: ~1600
Summary: Dean's feeling a bit under the weather and Sam does not have the patience of a saint.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] seryan for listening to me whine about wanting fluff and then beta-reading for me when I decided to write some myself.

Sam was smart enough to recognize when he needed reinforcements. )

Title: Meant To Be Known
Author: [personal profile] evening_bat
Rating: R-ish? Maybe? But only because of Dean's mouthiness.
Word Count: ~11,700
Summary: Written for the AU/Fusion Challenge (AU prompt #108) over on [livejournal.com profile] deancastiel: Castiel is a spirit/monster/god living on a mountain. Dean nails the daughter/sister/wife of someone influential in a nearby town who makes out like Dean has offended Castiel by his actions and must be sacrificed for atonement. Castiel doesn't actually care about the townspeople that much but he likes Dean and keeps him as his bride. I interpreted it rather liberally. Hope it's still enjoyable!

Thanks go out to:
1) [livejournal.com profile] seryan, my fannish partner in squee and longwinded analysis. Also the person that held my hand throughout wails of Oh my GOD! What was I thinking, signing up for this?! and But my idea is crap and I can't DO this! until I sucked it up and wrote the damn story.
2) [livejournal.com profile] awakencordy, whose fanmix We All Need Saving introduced me to the song of the same name by Jon McLaughlin, which provided the title for this story.

'Sacrificed? What do you mean, sacrificed?' )
